It's hard to believe we are already planning for the 2021-22 school year, especially when we don't know what fall will look like. We are going to do our best to plan for options that might happen (just like last year)!

From our FAQ page: What happens if you don't fill a position (event or program chair)?
Our Canyon Creek PTA Executive Board has agreed that the right thing to do for our PTA is to set deadlines by which volunteers are needed for programs/events for scheduling & budgeting purposes. If we don't have a chair by the deadline, we will cancel the event. While this makes us all sad to think about cancelling things, we know its not sustainable for us to just keep taking on more without the needed additional volunteers. We will post deadlines in RED when we are approaching deadline!
SPOTLIGHT ON PRIORITY OPPORTUNITIES:
One additional note - Now is a GREAT time to get involved in PTA! We have several very involved experienced PTA leaders/chairs, whose kids will no longer be at Canyon Creek next year. We would love to use this year to train some new PTA leaders! If you are interested, this is a perfect time to "shadow" or Co-Chair - to learn to ropes of PTA. Feel free to fill out the volunteer interest form with what you are interested in...and we can talk about how you can get involved!

Fundraising/ |
Do you have fundraising ideas? Are you interested in helping our PTA (non-profit organization) raise funds for all the great events and programs we offer? Take on the development and implementation of fundraising opportunities. This is a great opportunity for a group of passionate individuals! Bingo has been our big fundraiser in prior years -- and it's always popular. |

Partnership |
Are you interested in coordinating fundraising events with partners in our community or online? Develop and promote PTA fundraising opportunities, including silent fundraising management, special events, and ongoing community partnerships. Includes coordinating Dine-Out events, BoxTops collection, Shutterfly program, etc. NOTES: Looking for a co-chair for this position! Reach out to local restaurants or stores to setup fundraisers (like MOD Pizza, Menchie's, etc). New ideas are welcome! |

Art Docent/Gala |
Do you want to ensure ART education is available to all students? Coordinate and manage the art docent program, including but not limited to supply ordering, art docent recruitment, training and support, and planning and organizing the annual Art Gala event. Our school district has a curriculum with age appropriate lessons available for every grade! NOTES: We are looking for one or more volunteers to help with running the Art Docent program. In the past several years, it has been a team of 3 to run the program. We have two volunteers already. We need someone who can help with the tracking and communication with the actual Art Docent classroom volunteers. While we are still unsure about IF volunteers will be allowed in classrooms, we are hoping to be prepared in case we CAN! And if not, possibly come up with a way to present art to the class remotely? |

Multicultural Night |
Are you passionate about the bringing cultures and communities together? Organize an event that celebrate the cultural diversity of our school and community. We have some fun ideas, just need someone to take the lead on coordinating it |

Communications Assistant(s) |
Do you like sharing information? Would you like to help us share details about what's happening in PTA? We would love to find one (or more) people interested in helping out with all aspects of our communications. We have a weekly newsletter, a website we maintain and update, text reminders, social media accounts, graphics we create weekly, and more. Want to see what we do and help out? NOTES: We have lots of stuff to share - and with the coming year hopefully looking like more "in-person" activities might be possible, we could definitely use more hands. Work together with our communication team to share the work! |

Do you want to find something to do for PTA, entirely from home? Are you good with communication and like to answer questions before they are asked? Assist with posting/creating content and keeping information up to date on our PTA website. NOTES: Our website editor is looking for someone to help share the work and train, to ensure more than one person knows how it all works! |

DEI (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion) |
Would you love to help create a sense of belonging for every student, family, staff and community member -- where all feel safe, seen, heard, respected and empowered? There are so many ways this can be approached and the chair(s) would work with the executive team and potentially build a committee to develop a plan. (Check out our webpage and see what we did last year). NOTES: We are in need of a passionate chair (or chairs) to take on this committee. Special Education Representative |
Do you want to make a difference in the lives of special needs students and families? Serve as a liaison between PTA and our community's special needs families and teachers. Keep abreast of district and state initiatives, programs, and events of potential interest to the Special Ed community. Work with other Special Ed. Reps from across the district and Northshore PTSA Council. |

Sustainability |
Are you passionate about sustainability? Work with Canyon Creek Green Team to help keep and increase the school's Green Status. Also, work to share information about how to live sustainably and help with earth. |

Emergency Prep Liaison |
Would you like to help make sure Canyon Creek Elementary is ready if there was an emergency? Act as PTA liaison to the staff e-prep coordinator and assist in inventorying, organizing, and maintaining emergency supplies. |

Student Council Liaison |
Interested in helping students make a difference at Canyon Creek? Act as PTA liaison to Canyon Creek's Student Council, supporting their community outreach efforts and assisting the staff advisor as needed. |
