Calling all 2022-23 INCOMING Kindergarteners (& Families)!!

Canyon Creek PTA would like to welcome your family to our school community! Our mission is to serve our school and community by supporting a positive and inclusive learning environment. We do this by providing after school enrichment programs, bringing art to every classroom through are Art Docent program, hosting fun evening events and more!

One specific program that is aimed directly at incoming kindergarteners and their families is our Kindergarten Summer Playdates! We arrange a number of play dates over the summer intended to get kindergarteners to meet each other, play together and hopefully make friends before school starts - making those first weeks of school easier!! Also, for parents to meet other incoming kindergarten parents and maybe exchange info and have their own playdates - and get to know other families that will be at Canyon Creek!! We will have a few "expert" parents at the events to help answer questions about the basics of how things work, etc.

Stipek Park is a public park in Bothell, located at 1800 242nd St SE, Bothell, WA 98021. There is street parking available on 19th Avenue SE and 242nd Street SE. This park has a playground, swings, restrooms, basketball court, and a grass field - with walking paths.

Meet Our Host!

Our Kindergarten Playdate host, Daniella Poirier will be there with their kids to welcome you and your kindergartener. We hope to have a couple additional experienced Canyon Creek parents in attendance to help answer questions and chat!

• Meet Daniella Poirier:
  "Hi! My name is Daniella Poirier and I am so excited to be hosting the Canyon Creek Kindergarten Playdates. Our family recently moved to Washington from Texas. My daughter, Carly, is currently a Kindergartener and we have loved our experience at Canyon Creek. I also have a 4 year old son, Kevin, who attends Whole Earth Montessori. Come join us at Stipek Park! We look forward to meeting you and answering any questions you may have regarding your future Kindergarten adventures!"

More Details

• Look for our WELCOME table where will have a sign-in sheet, along with other information you might find useful. 
• Please fill out and wear name stickers (provided at our table) to identify yourselves (adults & kids) as part of our group. We are hoping to encourage the kindergarteners to get to know names of others - and ideally make friends so when school starts, they know some kiddos! And it's always nice to meet fellow Canyon Creek parents too!
• Bring questions - any you have - about PTA, school, logistics, etc. We may not have all the answers, but we will try our best - or direct you to the place to get the answers!

Another idea for information is to sign up for our twice a month (during the school year) PTA newsletter, the Coyote Howler. Sign up for our PTA newsletter.

• This will give you a glimpse of what kinds of things might be going on next year for your family, as part of our school community! Sent out twice monthly. Make sure you check "Weekly Howler Newsletter".
